My life was moving along like a bullock cart; I simply have to turn it into a rocket
My life was moving at the pace of an ox-cart; I simply must turn it into a rocket.
I have lived long enough a life that merely crawled along.
Now, I want to ride the swift winds.
I admit the journey won’t be easy, but that doesn’t matter.
Whatever I do from now on, it will be on my own terms.
What kind of life is it, really, if one lives in constant fear?
What is destined to happen will happen, come what may.
It was meeting you that taught me to finally live life openly.
Should I walk on in the scorching sun, or pause awhile in the shade?
If you say the word, I would even forget this weariness of mine.
Walk in such a way that you carve a unique identity for yourself in this world;
Live in such a way that you uphold your own self-respect.
Let me sing a song today that awakens a deep longing in your heart;
If you say the word, I would lay down my very eyelids upon your path.
We set out together, and together we must continue the journey;
You will have to pause when you hear my voice.
I must turn you into the wire and transform myself into the socket;
My life was moving at the pace of a bullock cart—I simply have to turn it into a rocket.
