What is the purpose of your life? When will you come to know it?
These breaths are moving within you today, but this alone is not life.
Ever since you were born, you have simply accepted the world’s words as truth.
Whatever anyone told you and taught you, you accepted it.
But do you know that there is a world beyond what you believe?
Not everything you believe is the only truth in this world.
Neither is it in your hands where you were born,
Nor is it in your hands when you will die.
When neither of these things is in your control,

You are simply living on like a toy that has merely been wound up with a key.
My house, my children, my job—these are all just an illusion.
Neither did you bring anything with you, nor will you take anything with you.
You came into this world empty-handed, and empty-handed you will leave.
Now listen to what will go with you:
Only people’s blessings will accompany you—know this.
You can make your life like a fragrant rose
If you make the happiness of others the purpose of your life.
Because someone rightly said, “What kind of life is it if you live only for yourself?”
When will you finally accept this truth?
